04 / HOW TO PLAY
The small blind and big blind begin the pot. Each player then receives two private hole cards, followed by the pre-flop betting round.
Three shared community cards are dealt as the flop, then one as the turn and one as the river. A betting round follows each stage.
When action reaches you, the available choices can include check, bet, call, raise, or fold, depending on whether another player has already bet.
If multiple players remain after the river, they reach showdown. The best five-card poker hand wins, using any combination of the two hole cards and five community cards—including none, one, or both hole cards.
A hand can also end before showdown when every opponent folds. Learning hand rankings, position, and when to protect or release a hand is central to Hold'em strategy.
